MY STORY: 2014
We have a year we call “the dark year”. I think everyone probably has a dark year...or two, or three. I’ve heard alot of people say 2021 and 2022 were the worst years of their life. Maybe as you get older you end up with several blocks of time that were especially terrible. Either way, these are almost always times of growth-which is extremely annoying. Anyway, my “dark year” was 2014. I will try my best of give a short overview of what happened that year.
January
- began my last semester of college, student teaching in middle school
February
- had a seizure while teaching
- decided to take a semester off school to get neurological testing
March
- diagnosed with Epilepsy
- prescribed medication (this is significant because, when I was 14, I had a Dr. tell me I would never have a successful pregnancy if I took anticonvulsants.)
April
- finally started taking medication
May
- Jared proposed!
- Jared started Pastoral job
- moved to hometown for the summer
August
- changed major from Music Ed. to Music
- started last year of school.
September
- closed on our first house
October
- married!
- first major panic attack Jared saw (oops)
- Pastor wife, heyo
December
- first time navigating family Christmas
I’ll try to break down by category why all these things combined created a life changing year.
